Roland Demongeot was born in France on April 1, 1955. He is best known for his portrayal of Tom Sawyer in the ZDF four-part TV series ‘Tom Sawyer’s and Huckleberry Finn's Adventures’, alongside Marc di Napoli, who played the role of Huckleberry Finn. The film adaptation is based on the novels Tom Sawyer's Adventures and Huckleberry Finn's Adventures and Life on the Mississippi by writer Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens).
Roland Demongeot was chosen from over 150 actors in the casting for the role of Tom Sawyer. He starred in several films and television series in the 1960s and 1970s, including well-known French cinema films. Today Demongeot lives a secluded life far from public view.
