In 1968’s “Once Upon a Time in the West” there is a scene where hired gun Frank (Henry Fonda) meets Mr. Morton Gabriele Ferzetti at an Indian cliff dwelling. I always thought this was an actual cliff dwelling in or near Monument Valley but all or part of the set was designed by Carlo Sim and his crew.

If it wasn't an actual Indian cliff dwelling and it was designed by Carlo Simi then it was probably made of paper mache or sugar sand. They were known to do that back then and they still do it even now. I bet it was really an elaborate set that cost a lot of money. It was a great film and had a lot of great costumes, props, and sets. Timeless classic.
