Marija Crnobori was born in Baniole, Istria, Austria-Hungary on October 1, 1918. She graduated from the Teachers' Vocational School in , and then from the Acting Academy in in the class of . From to she performed at the in Zagreb, and then in in 1946-47. In was founded in , so at the invitation of the first manager, , moved to that theater.
She published a book of memories "World of Acting" (1991) and "Life" (2011), a collection of essays on theater written in the period from 1952 to 2004, which was selected and edited by prof. Dr. Jelena Lužina.
