The National Bank of Mesa Verde the object of Juan Miranda’s desire was located in Medinacelli, Spain which sits on a remote hilltop and was originally settled by Italians. The exact location of the bank was a mystery for many years. The reason being Leone put a false exterior over several of the buildings in the town square and removed them after shooting was finished which left no trace of their existence.
The scene was filmed in Medinacelli, Spain with the same location shown from 2004.
