The Spanish voice actress Maria Romero, one of the most
memorable dubbing voices of her profession, died February 4th 2015
in Madrid, Spain. She was 85 years of age and unable to overcome a stroke she
suffered. Born Banet Angela Maria Romero on March 21, 1929 in A Coruña, Galicia,
Spain she started as a radio announcer on Radio Madrid. She then became a voice
actor and voice hundreds of films from the mid-1950s to 2013. Among her
Euro-westerns she was the voice of Mikaela in “Gunfight at Red Sands” (1963), Gina
Lollobrigida in 1972’s “Bad Man’s River”, Rosanna Yanni in “Sonny & Jed”
also in 1972.
