Happy 70th Birthday Dunja Rajter
Dunja Rajter was born in Nasice, Yugoslavia on March 3, 1940. After her basic schooling she attended the Theater Academy in Zagreb. In 1964 she moved to Germany where she appeared in several films including the Winnetou films “Apache Gold” (1963) and “Frontier Hellcat” (1964) and several television series. In the 1970s she became known as a singer with hits such as “Was ist schon dabei?” and “Salem Aleikum”. Her singing career continued into the late 1980s. She would appear as a guest at the 2003 Berlin Jedermann-Fetspiele production of “Old Surehand” and at the Karl May Festival in Bad Segeberg. Dunja was married to cinematographer Gerard Vandenberg [1932-1999] from 1970 until 1971 and then composer Les Humphries [1940-2007] from 1972 until 1976. She is now married to her marketing consultant Michael Eichler in 2009. She is the mother of singer Danny Leslie Humphries [1974- ] who is a singer and guitarist in the group Glow. Today we celebrate Dunja Rajter's 70th birthday.

I can not believe that Dunja Rajter is 70. She was one of my childhood favorite singers in Germany and was/is a very beautiful women with a husky gypsy voice! BTW I am always amazed how many people you know from Spaghetti Westerns and other cult movies!
