Mexico in 1908. For 30 years, dictator Díaz has ruled with an iron hand and incredible cruelty. Men are on their way to enrich the people. One of them is Don Gabríel, who comes to Bujvilum for this reason. The inhabitants of this indio village await the new governmental commissioner, whom his friend Don Ramón has raised to this post without any consideration, with fear and terror. Not unjustly, for Don Gabríel is cruel and very corrupt. Against him, the Indios are almost hopeless, their lawyer also goes to jail. It is only foreseeable that one day it must come to rebellion.
