Italian born naturalized American actress Leticia Roman died in Ft. Myers,
Florida on June 26, 2025. She was 83. Born Letizia Novarese on August 12, 1941,
she was the daughter of production manager, director, assistant director,
writer Vittorio Nino Novarese [1907-1983], actress Giuliana Gianni [1917-1996]. Roman appeared in 27 films and TV series from 1960 to 1969. In 1966 she married
lawyer Peter Anthony Gelles [1944- ] and became a naturalized American citizen.
The couple had a son global marketing director Oliver John Gelles born in 1973.
The couple eventually divorced with Gelles living in Los Angeles and Leticia
moving to Florida. Roman appeared in one Euro-western as Judith in 1965’s “Flaming
Frontier” with Stewart Granger, Pierre Brice and Mario Girotti who later acted
under the alias Terence Hill.
