Little Known Spaghetti Western actors ~ Dalila de Lamar

[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]

Dalila di Lazzaro was born in Udine on January 29, 1953. She started her career in the entertainment world very early, having to support her son Christian, born in 1969, when she was only 16 years old. Initially a model, she later became a designer, then debuted in 1972 in cinema with the Italian western film "Si può fare... amigo" (It Can be Done... Amigo!), under the pseudonym Dalila Di Lamar. This was followed by numerous films in minor roles, until in 1974, she starred in the film, "Il mostro è in tavola... barone Frankenstein". After being definitively launched by Alberto Lattuada as the leading actress in the film "Oh, Serafina!" (1976), Di Lazzaro would subsequently be chosen and cast primarily for the role of femme fatale, ultimately appearing in more than thirty films and several television series, thus becoming a prominent figure in Italian cinema of the seventies, eighties, and nineties. She also made films in France, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. In 2013, she participated in the film "L'ultima ruota del carro" directed by Giovanni Veronesi, which was followed by the television series "Rodolfo Valentino - La leggenda" (2014) and "1992" (2015).

In 2006, Dalila Di Lazzaro published her first autobiography, titled "Il mio cielo", followed by "L'angelo della mia vita. Piccoli miracoli intorno a me" (2008), dedicated to her son Christian, "Toccami il cuore. Amori, sentimenti e passioni della mia vita" (2009), her second autobiographical novel, "Il mio tesoro nascosto" (2011) and "Una donna lo sa" (2014), a novel that deals with the condition of women in light of recent news episodes of violence against women. Later, she published "La vita è così" (2017), a novel that explores passions and virtues to overcome crises.

In 1991, her son Christian died at the age of 22 due to a car accident, a tragedy that strongly affected her. In the following years Dalila also suffered from a form of chronic physical pain, following a motorcycle accident in 1997 caused by a pothole in a road in Rome, which resulted in a fracture of the atlas, the first vertebra of the neck, forcing her to remain bedridden for two years, lying down and convalescent for over eleven years.

Her only Spaghetti western appearance as mentioned above was in “Si può fare... amigo” (It Can be Done... Amigo!) in 1972 as one of Sonny’s girl in the blue dress.
