[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]
Maria Del Carmen was born on September 19, 1943, in Barcelona, Spain. From a young age she dreamed of being an artist and becoming famous. Together with some friends (Juan, Alfonso, Rafa and Paco) he decided to form the group "Donald Duck", to play at parties and with which she later entered a radio contest, thus getting his first artistic prize. When in 1966 they recorded their first album, the group was renamed Los Stop with which they obtained resounding hits ("Tres cosas (Salud, dinero y amor)", "El turista 1.999.999", "Yo te daré", "La, la, la", etc.).
After leaving Los Stop, he began a solo career full of successes and in which he proved his worth as a singer under the name Cristina. After several attempts, the song "Viva la vida" arrived, which made her very popular again.
In the 1980s Cristina left the stage and recordings and set up a hairdressing business. It also puts an apparent, only apparent, end to his career only to return in 1999 on the oldies circuit within the Formula Diablos package, performing again throughout Spain and making a trip to Miami, Florida where she returned on several occasions, until in 2005 she lived there for a while and performed with other veterans such as Tony Landa, Karina or Los Mitos. During 2006 and 2007 she toured with Manolo Galván in the United States and other American countries.
After her last stay in Miami, she returned definitively to Spain and adopted the name of Cristina Stop with which she made the homonymous CD "Cristina Stop" (2007). Since then she has continued to make occasional performances and appearances on television programs, being one of the few relatively active survivors of the golden age of Spanish pop.
She appeared in only one film that is mentioned on the IMDb. That film was also her only western as she appeared as Paulette Doncella in 1965s “Rebeldes en Canada” (Rebels in Canada).
