Zephi Alsec was born in Bucharest, Romania on February 22, 1923. was a Romanian theater, film and television actor of Jewish origin. He graduated from the Theater and Film Institute in 1948 and joined the State Theater in Ploiești, whose director was Toma Caragiu, he was among the first actors of this theater and remained forever in this city.
He debuted on the big screen during his student years, with the role of Ianot in the film “Theft from Arizona” (1945), directed by Mircea Botez. Throughout his career he was cast in over 20 films including the 1976 Sci-Fi film “Im Staub der Sterne” (In the Dust of the Stars). 1977 he played in the German western film “Severino” as a barman nicknamed ‘Quarter of a Litre’. The following year he played Judge Goldstein in “The Actress, the Dollars and the Transylvanians”.
He was married to Ivette in Ploiesti, the daughter of a doctor of the local soccer team called Concordia, Dr. Emanuel Leopold, they have a daughter, Henriette Alșec.
Alsec was one of the founders of the Municipal Theatre of Ploieşti.
He died in Ploiesti, Romania on July 8, 1992 at the age of 69.
