RIP Mauro Muñiz

 


Spanish musician, comedian and actor Mauro Muñiz died in Madrid, Spain on April 16, 2023. He was 58. Born Mauro Muñiz de Urquiza in Madrid on September 16, 1964, the son of journalists Paloma de Urquiza and Mauro Muñiz and brother of socialist MEP María Muñiz, Don Mauro began his artistic career as a pianist and composer of different music groups such as La Cabra Mecánica, where he worked as a keyboardist. However, he became known among the general public with his humorous monologues on Paramount Comedy in the early 2000s, where he participated in humor programs such as La hora chanante with Joaquín Reyes, Ernesto Sevilla or Pablo Chiapaella. In addition to his comic and musical side, he stood out as an actor in films such as “Pagafantas”, “3 bodas de más” and “Perdido el este”, and in successful TV series such as ‘Aida’, ‘’Hospital Centra’l,’ Los hombres de Paco, ‘Sin tetas no hay paraíso’ and’ La que se avecina’. Muñiz appeared in the 2007 Euro-western short film “Limoncello” in the role of Mitch.
