At Cannes The Weinstein Company screened some footage of the film "Django Unchained",
something like an extended promo trailer, to industry people and
journalists, and the reactions to it are great so far.
SPOILER - In one scene Jamie Foxx and a grizzled cowboy in a two shot having drinks at a saloon, the cowboy asks Foxx “What’s yer name?”, "Django" Foxx replies,
“The D is silent.” The grizzled cowboy is none other then Franco Nero.
From Twitter "'Django' gets the most whoops. Plenty of blood,
plenty of laughs. Looks like it will be the Cristophe Waltz show. 'The D
is silent.' #Cannes"
Opening Christmas day 2012.

In the scene where Django tells Franco Nero's character that his name is Django and then says, "The D is silent", Nero's character says "I know". This is a nod to when Franco Nero played the character only 40 years earlier in 1966.
