British actress Samantha Eggar died in Los Angeles,
California on October 15th. She was 86. Born Victoria Louise
Samantha Marie Elizabeth Therese Eggar in Hampstead, Londo, England. Samantha
hit the big screen running, earning an Oscar nomination for her breakout role
in the 1965 film "The Collector." She went on to have a prolific
career, appearing in more than 100 projects on the big screen in such films as "Doctor
Dolittle" and "The Molly Maguires", television and voiceover
work. She is survived by her actress daughter Jenna and producer son Nicolas
Stern, whose father is American actor Tom Stern. The couple was married from
1964 to 1971. Eggar appeared in the 1977 Euro-western “Welcome to Blood City”
with Jack Palance and Keir Dullea.
