Today marks the 50th anniversary of the
premier of “La parola di un fuorilegge... è legge!” (Take a Hard Ride) directed
by Anthony M. Dawson (Antonio Margheriti) and starring Jim Brown, Fred
Williamson, Catherine Spaak and Jim Kelly. Filmed in the Canary Islands of
Spain it told the story of Pike (Jim Brown) and Tyree (Fred Williamson), a
stonefaced cowboy and a jocular and dishonest gambler, together with a mute
Indian scout named Kashtok (Jim Kelly), attempt to transport $86,000 across
hundreds of miles of Western wasteland to deliver it to the widow of Pike's
former employer Bob Morgan (Dana Andrews). Along the way, they attempt to help
a young widow Catherine (Catherine Spaak) while being pursued by bounty hunter
Kiefer (Lee Van Cleef) and corrupt sheriff Kane (Barry Sullivan).
