Constantin Pace Bărbulescu was born in Bucharest, Romania on April 17, 1917. He was the son of a saloon owner named Ştefan and Maria Bărbulescu. He graduated from the School of Horticulture in Bucharest, after which he graduated from the Conservatory of Dramatic Art, in the class of Marioara Voiculescu. Constantin Bărbulescu's sister (who died long before the actor) is the mother of the actress Rodica Popescu-Bitănescu [1938- ], and the daughter of the actor and his wife, the actress Matilda A. Ionescu. His nephew, Florin Ionescu-Galați [1970- ], is a violinist, and his great-granddaughter, Alexandra, continues the family's artistic tradition.
Constantin appeared in over 100 roles at several private theaters and at the National Theater in Bucharest; known for roles such as that of Tipătescu in “A Lost Letter” by I. L. Caragiale, that of Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza or that of Macbeth in Shakespeare's play of the same name; he also played in “Cid” and “King Lear” by Shakespeare, “The Red Passion” by Michael the Sorbul; he also appeared in 35 films and television appearances.
Barbulesu appeared in two Euro-westerns: "Aliens in the Wild, Wild West" as Clemmy and "Phantom Town" as a gunslinger both released in 1999.
He died in Romania on February 6, 1998 shortly before his westerns were released.
