RIP Martine Brochard

 


French born actress Martine Brochard died in Rome of leukemia on October 18th. She was 81. Born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Haut-de-Seine, Île-de- France-France as Annie Martine Brochad, she debuted in 1968 in a minor role in François Truffaut's “Baisers volés”. In 1970, she moved to Italy, where she became a minor star in genre films, including crime films, sex comedies and giallo films. From the mid 70's, she regularly appeared in Italian TV-series and on stage. In 1995 and 1999, she released two collections of stories for children, La gallina blu e altri racconti and Zaffiretto il vampiretto e altri racconti Martine was married to actor Umberto Ceriani from 1970-1985 and is the mother of director Ferdinando B. Ceriani, she was then married to director Franco Molè from 1984 until Molè’s death in 2006. In 2003, Brochard was diagnosed with leukemia. Martine appeared in only one Spaghetti western as Angela in 1977’s “A Man Called Blade” starring Maurizio Merli and Phillipe Leroy and John Steiner
