Little Known Spaghetti Western Actors ~ Julio Aldama

Born Julio Augurio Aguado Turrubiates he was a Mexican singer, actor, screenwriter, director and film producer. In September He left his medical career in 1953, when Ángel Rabanal gave him the opportunity to work as a singer in the program ‘El rancho del edén’, which was transmitted by XEQ, his friendship with Ismael Rodríguez, gives him an opportunity to debut in cinema, in the film “Maldita ciudad” (1954), it is the same Rodríguez who offers him the role in “Tizoc: Amor indio” (1956). That film brought together as protagonists those actors who were perhaps the greatest stars of Mexican cinema: María Félix and Pedro Infante. He would immediately participate in various films, usually of the ranchero genre and in which he also sang songs. He came to be considered the best exponent of television ranchero programs.

From the 1970s, Aldama forged a career as a director, in this area he achieved his greatest popularity, given his success at the box office was the film “Hermelinda Linda” (1984) based on the comic of the same name and which had a sequel two years later. On television he worked in several musical programs such as: ‘Noches tapatías’, ‘Así es mi tierra’ and ‘Programa Nescafé’, his last appearance in this medium was in the telenovela ‘El extraño retorno de Diana Salazar’, starring Lucía Méndez.

Aldama died from a heart attack on January 9, 1989, in Mexico City. He was only 57.
