Gino Buzzanca was born in Messina, Sicily, Italy as Giovanni Buzzanca on March 8, 1912. His brother was actor Empedocle Buzzanca [1910-1987]. Gino began his career on stage, specializing as an actor of the Sicilian language theater, and starring in works by Luigi Pirandello and Giovanni Verga. Gino was discovered by director Luigi Zampa, who offered him a role of weight in the film “Easy Years” (1953), Buzzanca then had a long film career as a character actor, often cast in villainous roles. He finished his film career appearing in several Spaghetti westerns, sometimes credited as Bill Jackson. He was the uncle of the actor Lando Buzzanca [1935- ]. Gino Buzzanca died on Rome, Italy on May 5, 1985.
