
He has been for more than twenty years, the trumpet soloist of the orchestra of the RAI; he has performed and collaborated with many of the most important musicians of the Jazz world
(Lionel Hampton, Gato Barbieri, Kenny Clarke, Gil Evans, among many others) composed for film with (Armando Trovaioli, Riz Ortolani, and Ennio Morricone, for which he recorded , among the many scores, the trumpet soloist in the movie " La leggenda del pianista sull'oceano".
Considered one of the "pioneers" of Italian jazz Santucci has participated in major international festivals such as the Festival of Comblain La Tour (in Belgium in 1961), the Festival of Montreux (Switzerland in 1967 , with Antonello Vannucchi Gegé Munari and Giovanni Thomas), the Festival of Juan les Pins (France in 1969 with Lilian Terry), and others.
His collaborations in Italy are many, including: Carlo Loffredo, Marcello Rosa, Tony Scott, Romano Mussolini, Enzo Scoppa (with whom he recorded several albums), Roberto Podio, Maurizio Giammarco, Maurizio Majorana, Franco D' Andrea, Bruno Biriaco Luke and Roger Jacovella.
Santucci composed the soundtrack for the Euro-western, “Once Upon a Time in the Wild Wild West”.
Today we celebrate Francesco Santucci’s 75th birthday.
