Happy 75th Birthday Karin Dor

German actress Karin Dor was born Kätherose Derr on February 22, 1938 in Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany. Dor became popular in the 1960s playing heroines in Edgar Wallace and Karl May movies. She also starred in the James Bond movie “You Only Live Twice” (1967) and the Alfred Hitchcock movie Topaz (1969). Karin appeared in five Euro-westerns including “The Treasure of Silver Lake” (1962), “Last of the Renegades” (1964), “The Last Tomohawk” and “The Desperado Trail” (both 1965), and “Winnetou and Shatterhand in the Valley of Death” (1968).

Karin was married to director, screenwriter Harald Reinl [1908-1986] from 1954 to 1968 and then George Robotham [1921-2007], a U.S. stunt-director, from 1988 until his death in 2007. The couple lived in Los Angeles and Munich. In 2008 she returned to the stage again in Munich in Man lebt nur dreimal ("You Only Live Thrice"). Today we celebrate Karin Dor’s 75th birthday.
