Euphemia ‘Femi’ Benussi was born on March 4, 1943 in
Rovigna, Istria, Italy. Benussi was also billed as Femi Martin and Femy Benussi
and Femy Benuzzi. She was an Italian actress who was active between 1965 and 1983.
In most of these films she was given roles where she showed much of her
gorgeous body from a bare shoulder to complete nudity. Benussi enrolled at the
University where she wanted to major in philosophy and letters and enter the
world of education, but she did not finish her studies. After a broken
relationship she left her native Rovigna and moved to Rome to live with an aunt.
Immediately her beauty was noticed and she was chosen in 1965 by Massimo
Pupillo to play in his film “Boia scarlatto”. The turning point in her career
came in 1968, when she landed the role of Yasmin in "Samoa della regina giungla" (Samoa, Queen of the Jungle) (1968) directed by
Guido Malatesta. From this moment on, Femi became one of Italy’s sex symbols.
Since then she has appeared in over eighty films in a ten-year career.
Specializing in B-movies, especially comedies and erotic crime films, she had
an important role in “Uccellacci e uccellini” by Pier Paolo Pasolini. Femi
appeared in 11 Euro-westerns from “Death Walks in Laredo” in 1966 to “Seven
Devils on Horseback” (1975). Benussi’s last screen appearance was in 1985’s “Mizzzzica...
ma che è proibitissimo?” She was featured in the 2007 book Sexy Made in Italy by Profondo Rosso.
