RIP Carli Glynn

 


Tony-winning star of “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” Carlin Glyn and mother of Mary Stuart Masterson, died of lung cancer on July 13 in New York. She was 83. Glynn was born Carlin Elizabeth Glynn in Cleveland, Ohio on February 19, 1940. She was an accomplished actress and singer, earning a Tony award in 1979 for her Broadway debut in the original production of “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.” Glynn worked on the production alongside her husband, Peter Masterson, who later adapted the show into the 1982 film of the same name, starring Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton. Glyn appeared in the 1989 Euro-wester “Blood Red” as Miss Jeffreys. The films starred Eric Roberts, Dennis Hopper and Giancarlo Gianinni

  1. For those of you that remember watching "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas" and for those of you that HAVEN'T seen it, there's a cast member from "The Andy Griffith Show" who was in the movie and it was none other than Gomer Pyle, Mr. Jim Nabors.
