[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]

Henri Octave Marie Bernascon was born in Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France on September 19, 1897. He served in the French infantry in 1917.  Towards the end of the 1950s Arius could be seen in larger and more substantive supporting roles. Arius died in Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France on May 7, 1968. His son was actor and animator Frédéric Gérard (Gérard Bernascon) [1932-2022].

Arius appeared in only one Euro-western as a grocer in the 1958 French film western musical  “Texas Serenade” starring Bourvil and Louis Mariano.

  1. In that picture, Henri Arius looks like Cameron Mitchell if he were made out of wax.
