Spaghetti Western Trivia ~ Morricone & “Fort Yuma Gold”.

The musical score of the 1966 film “Fort Yuma Gold” included some parts of the score for “Malamondo” (1964) in order to justify including Ennio Morricone in the score credits of the film. Morricone sued the producer, and the dispute was settled in court in 1973.

  1. Ennio Morricone had every right to sue the producer in what I call the "Fort Yuma Cold" lawsuit. Apparently, they said Morricone did most of the score for "Fort Yuma Gold" and that part of it was taken from 1964's "Malamondo". Morricone claimed that it was used without his permission and Giuliano Gemma backed his claim. The case was finally settled in 1975. Looks like both Ringo AND Morricone got what they wanted.
