[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]
Stefano Amato was born in Acerra, Campania, Italy on September 30, 1958. While attending grammar school he was noticed by a teacher who was the wife of the director Salvatore Samperi. He had two peculiarities that made him interesting for the sexy-brilliant comedies of the time: red hair and a plump build. Generally his roles were as the friend of the protagonist, but in two films he was given more complex but always comic parts, in “Dimmi che fai tutto per me” with Johnny Dorelli and “La prova d'amore”. At the end of the seventies, he abandoned the world of cinema. Later he moved to Madrid where he worked for years in the information technology field. He died on February 1, 2005 at the age of 48 and was buried in the Laurentino cemetery in Rome.
