The Canarian actor is the only European who has played the characters of Robin Hood and Zorro in the cinema.
Charles Quiney has been in Las Palmas for a few days. His stay, which will be brief, -he will return to Madrid on Monday- although it coincides with the first premiere in Las Palmas of his - "La ultima aventura del Zorro"- is due in reality for family reasons: Charles Quiney has come to attend the first communion of his eldest daughter, Cristina, which will take place tomorrow Sunday.
With Carlos Quiney we have spoken briefly about his activities. We already indicated not long ago that the Canarian actor, although with a few years of dedication to the cinema, he has intense work and barely has time to attend to all the requests.
Right now –he tells us- when I finish the “western” that I'm filming in Madrid, I have offers to coincide with three more films. One is from Brazil, to make a film with Corbucci, another from Greece with Enzo Carrielli and another from Rome, with Jose Luis Merino. I haven't decided yet on which I’ll make.
Charles Quiney in the space of about two years has made
fifteen films. Six of them have already been released in various European
countries. There are also several that have been released in Spain. But there
are still others pending release. They are: "Hell Commandos",
"Zorro Latest Adventure" and " More Dollars for the MacGregors",
in addition to the only two Spanish films he has made - the rest are Italian or
co-productions - "Bullets Over Dallas" and " The Rebels of
Arizona”.

What have been your best movies?
"I think that “Ivanna”, from the suspense genre, shot entirely in Milan, with Erna Schurer as the female lead, has been my best performance, as well as being a great film. Also "Robin Hood" and "El Tigre del Kiber". By the way, I have been told that the latter have already been contracted by a Las Palmas distributor."
Charles Quiney was the first European actor to have played the characters of Robin Hood and Zorro. About the popular masked man, he has made two films and will soon play a new one in the series: “Zorro Rider of Vengeance”, which will be shot in Madrid and Rome, with Marisa Longo, as the female lead. The film is directed by Jose Luis Merino.
Prior to the film that he is currently shooting in Madrid, Charles Quiney had finished "More Dollars for the MacGregors", which was shot in Madrid and Rome, under the direction of Jose Merino.
It seems like a good movie.
Charles Quiney found stardom in a considerably short
time. We already indicated that in Italy he is one of the most popular young
film figures. His interpretations of Zorro and Robin Hood - we repeat, he is
the only European actor who has embodied these characters - as well as in
"western", films and war and "suspense" which are highly
appreciated. There is indeed a significant fact. Never has a Spanish actor,
perhaps even at the time of Jorge Mistral, figured, as Charles Quiney is now,
leading the casts of foreign films, There will be time, when we see the films
Charles Quiney has already shot and the ones he will make in the future.

Here - where he started in amateur theater - we can
appreciate the artistic dimensions of this Gran Canarian who has entered the world
of films with such firmness.
How many Spaghetti Westerns did Carlos Quiney make? I would love to know.
