[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]
Alicia Altabella was a Spanish film, radio and television actress born María de la Salud Altabella Hernández in Caspe, Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain on September 28, 1924. She appeared in close to 50 films and TV appearances between her first film “Novio a la vista” (Boyfriend in Sight) in 1954 and her final appearance in 1999’s “La mujer más fea del mundo”. She received musical training at the Madrid Royal Conservatory. In the theater she touched all genres and trends in Spain and also abroad. In 1952 she began her work with the acting staff of Radio Madrid to embody outstanding characters of classical and contemporary theater and recite poetry. Her passage to the cinema will be, however, through those curious post-war competitions, specifically in 1952 in "CIFESA busca un estrella", and from here she worked on some feature films, some of them with important directors. On the small screen she preferred dramatic programs such as "Mariana Pineda", "La Lola se va a los puertos", "Portrait of a Lady" and "The Other Tree of Guernica".
Alicia was married and had five children. She died in Spain sometime in 2015 but the exact date and place I could not find. She was 90/91.
