Canaros en el Cine
1/15/1969
Carlos Quiney, a young actor from the Canary Islands, trained in our fan groups - where in addition to acting he also started out as a director - has completed his first film. Quiney, who went to Madrid to find a better channel for his artistic concerns and vocation, had taken part as an actor in a play for TVE, as well as in theater. The opportunity to act in cinema was given to him by the production company Hispamer Films from Madrid, which, together with Rom's “Prodimex Film”, undertook the filming of “Comando al Infierno” (Commando to Hell). The filming of said film took place in Madrid, Segovia, Guadalajara and Avila. Currently, it is being assembled, hoping that it wil end shooting in April or May of this year.
Carlos Quiney, in his first film, plays the role of notable importance and shares the head of the cast with names of such prestige and fame as Guy Madison, Raffaela Carra, Stan Cooper, Piero Lulli, and other prominent actors. In "Commando al Infierno" (Commando to Hell), Carlo Quiney plays the role of a commando and according to the impressions of the film's director, José Luis Merino and the production manager, S. L. Lorente, he carries out his mission with the greatest success, for which reason he has been offered to appear in two more films with the same production company.
“Comando al infierno” (Commando to Hell), a Spanish-Italian co-production, will be released in several languages: Spanish, Italian, French, English and Japanese, for which the Capario actor will soon become well known internationally.
We were sincerely satisfied with the success of Carlos
Quiney, a vocational actor whose conditions were well demonstrated in Las
Palmas where his theatrical performances revealed a rare aptitude for this
difficult artistic path in which he now seems so promisingly initiated as a
professional.
He plays an important role alongside Guy Madison and
Raffaela Carra]
