Italian cinematographer,
director of photography, camera operator Alfio Contini died in Rome, Italy on March
23, 2020. He was 92. Born in Castiglioncello, Livorno, Italy on September 19,
1927 during his career he worked with such directors as Dino Risi “Il sorpasso”
(1962) and “La marica su Cavani” (1963), Pasquale Festa Campanile “La matriarca”
(1968), Lucio Fulci, Liliana Cavani “Galileo” (1968), “Night Porter” (1974), “Ripley’s
Game” (2002) and Michelangelo Antonioni “Zabriskie Point” (1970); “Beyond the
Clouds” (1995) for which he won the David di Donatello award. For Euro-westerns he was
cinematographer on “Man from Canyon
City” (1965); “Yankee”
(1966); “God Forgives… I Don’t” (1967) and “They Call Me Renegade” (1987).
