The Granada artist completes
his work at the Torrecárdenas Shopping Center
The famous graffiti artist Raúl Ruiz,
better known as the Niño de las
Pinturas, has finished this week in Almería one of his most
important works at the Torrecárdenas Shopping Center. This
is the last of the three works inspired by the Almeria film legacy. This, specifically,
is a tribute to the film 'The Good,
the Bad and the Ugly', which was shot in Almeria, which can be appreciated
by visitors to the mall in access to the surface parking and to which the
artist Granada has given his last
brushstrokes and touches.
The works of the Child of the
Paintings look from the opening of the Torrecárdenas Shopping Center in the
three existing accesses from the car parks, and in them different scenes of three mythical films shot in the province are
reproduced, in which you can appreciate the beauty of the Almeria
landscapes: 'The good, the ugly and the bad', 'Indiana Jones and the last crusade'
and 'Lawrence of Arabia'.
For the realization of these
works, the graffiti artist from Granada has done an
exhaustive work of previous research, seeing again the three films and
making a storyboard with those most representative images shot in Almería.
The result has been a thorough
urban art work that perfectly reflects the eternal love story of the film
industry with the unique landscapes of the province of Almeria. In
the words of the artist himself, this
has been one of his most complicated works, but also one of the most rewarding.
A tribute to the many that the
shopping center has made to the world of art and culture in general and,
specifically, to the world of cinema and the weight that this industry has had
throughout the province. And, since its opening, it has not ceased its
efforts to spread the Almeria film legacy among
its visitors through involvement in various activities related to the seventh
art. A good example of this have been the sponsorship of the FICAL Film
Festival, the Almería Western Film Festival of Taverns, the celebration of the
IndyCon on the occasion of the XXX anniversary of 'Indiana Jones and the Last
Crusade' or the production of the short film 'Headhunter', Goya prize
winner.
