We continue our search for film locations for “The Big
Gundown”. With Cuchillo finally subdued Corbett offers him some bread and then
continues to prepare his meal over a campfire. Cuchillo spots a snake
slithering down a rock behind Corbett. He breaks off the tip of a agave plant
and pricks Corbett in the back. Corbett wheels and shoots the snake dead.
Corbett tells Cuchillo to suck out the venom which he does but tells Corbett
the wound should be burned. Corbett heats up his knife in the fire, gives it to
Cuchillo who places it over the wound. Corbett winces from the pain and
Cuchillo grabs his gun. Showing Corbett it was only a cactus thorn he rides
away on Corbett’s horse.
This scene was shot in the area of Sartenilla, Tabernas,
Spain.
