Happy 75th Birthday Gina Rovere
Luigina 'Gina' Rovere was born on May 5, 1935, in Rome, Italy. She started her career as a showgirl working in theater and variety shows. After a series of tryouts she was chosen by director Gianni Franciolini to appear in the 1953 film in “Villa Borghese” she would go on to appear in over 60 films and television appearances while sharing her time on stage. Her last so far was in the 2006 TV series “I Cesaroni”. She sometimes appeared under the name Jenny Oaks which was an Anglicized version of her name. Most of her parts were small character roles playing the second or third woman. Along her way she appeared in two Euro-westerns: “God Forgives... I Don't” as Rose with Terence Hill and Bud Spencer and “Sugar Colt” as Aunt Bess with Hunt Powers. Today we celebrate Gina Rovere's 75th birthday.
