The soundtrack compilation, featuring 20 tracks from Italian Western films, arrives June 20.
Some of the best tracks from Italian cinema’s Spaghetti Western era are getting their due. Filmmaker and musician Jeymes Samuel has unveiled Spaghetti Western, a new album compiling the best of music from the golden age of Italian Western cinema, spanning from 1963 until 1972. Featuring both well-loved classics and rare deep cuts, Spaghetti Western will debut on June 20.
The compilation contains 20 tracks from CAM Sugar’s vault of more than 2,000 scores as well as original productions from Samuel. The artist has also created new hand-painted album art exclusive to the release, and contributed new liner notes to fully appreciate the sounds of one of film’s most iconic genres. Interviews from actors David Oyelowo and Regina King are also featured in the package for the deluxe box set, as well as a storyboard from The Harder They Fall illustrated by Dwayne Turner. Featuring compositions from composers like Nico Fidenco, Gianni Ferrio, Ennio Morricone, Carlo Rustichelli, and Piero Umiliani and vocal performances from Alessandro Alessandroni, Caterina Caselli, Jula De Palma, the collection features three tracks never before pressed on vinyl, as well as three tracks now available digitally for the very first time.
“This isn’t just a compilation – it’s a love letter to the Spaghetti Western and the artists who transformed cinema forever,” says Samuel in a press statement. “These soundtracks shaped my creative soul, and with this collection, I’ve blended timeless scores with my own interpretations to honor the genre’s raw beauty and bold spirit. It’s music, memory, and homage – an invitation into a world that continues to inspire.”
“Collaborating with Jeymes on this project has been a true honor; his work transcends the idea of curation: it is a cultural statement, a poetic homage to Italian composers, and a profoundly human tribute to a genre often misunderstood,” CAM Sugar adds in its own statement. “Throughout this journey, we’ve come to know not only a remarkable creative mind but a rare artistic voice, curious, generous, and boundlessly multidimensional. In Jeymes’ hands, a genre once overlooked or reduced to parody is reawakened in all its emotional and cinematic grandeur.”

Found it on YT and it's a great selection of music. Most of it I'd never heard before, and I've heard and seen a lot of this stuff. Unfortunately the overinflated and suspiciously AI-sounding bafflegab accompanying the over the top limited edition coloured vinyl package gives a distinct impression that the "curator" is hoping to appropriate some of the perceived hipness of the spaghetti western for himself, when the real bottom line is simply that ol' Jimbo has made everybody a pretty cool mix tape.
