Mirisch Films Ltd. Began filming “Cannon for Cordoba” here for United Artists release. Heading the cast are George Peppard, Giovanna Ralli, and Raf Vallone.
Filming is taking place on the outskirts of Madrid with interiors being done at Studios Roma, Madrid. Filmed in Panavision and Eastmancolor the film is directed by Paul Wendkos and produced by Vincent M. Fennelly.
“Cannon for Cordoba” takes place during the part of this century and is based on an historical incident which tells the story of an intelligence officer (Peppard) attached to the staff of the General John J. Pershing. The setting is a border town in Texas and the interior of Mexico.
Filming is
expected to finish Sept. 26.
