[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]
Ljubiša Bačić Baja was born in Soko Banja, Serbia, Yugoslavia on December 30, 1922. Ljubiša was an actor, voice actor and singer. Baja was one of the most talented people on our public stage, and few people know about him. He attended high school in Niš, and after the war went to Belgrade. However, he never forgot his hometown, and often pointed out where he was from, wrote his poems and stories in the dialect of Eastern Serbia, and warned his readers not to buy books if they later complained that they did not understand what was written. He first worked as a journalist at Radio Belgrade, and then he switched to acting and playing music. Ljubiša was very dedicated to children and working with them fulfilled him, so he prepared children's radio shows, and then he did the same on television in "Na slovo, na slovo", "Hajde da rastemo", "Hijadu kaštu" and later lent voices to cartoon heroes such as the Serbian voice of the Looney Tunes character Leghorn Foghorn and for Donatello and Krang in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".
Ljubiša appeared in nearly 80 films and TV shows from 1957 until 1998. He was also a singer and sang both as a solo artist and in the groups ‘Duet Tamara Pavlović’, ‘I Baja Bačić’.
He died on March 24, 1999, in Belgrade, Serbia, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
Ljubiša appeared in only one Euro-western and that was as a bartender in the 1967 film “Zlatna pracka” (The Golden Sling) starring Miodrag 'Ckalja' Petrovic and Vera Ilic-Djukic.
