Lopez The Bandit
Entirely in French
The American
Far West has long seduced our imagination. There, man is placed directly in
front of the terrible struggles for life. Doubtless, the laws there cannot be
so strictly observed as in our civilized countries. It gives the individual all
his energy to defend his life and his good.
LOPEZ THE
BANDIT is one of those where men imagine living in distant lands. A bandit,
Lopez? Certainly not. But a man whose quick blood sometimes drags him a little
far. And if a few peccadilloes are disturbed, it only disturbs his conscience a
little, his heart is courageous and upright. In the beautiful film that The
EMPIRE will play next week. Lopez a wandering rogue and a young woman with the
machinations of real bandits and sacrificing her love will unite her to the man
she loves.
Entirely spoken in French, LOPEZ LE BANDIT is a film of great interest, interpreted by VITAL, Daniel MENDAILLE Suzy VERNON, Jeanne HELBLING and a host of great artists. You will like it because you will live, by seeing it, a beautiful life of adventures.
Lopez the Bandit is the French release of 1930’s American
film of “The Bad Man” based on the play of the same name and directed by John
Daumery.
If they remade the film today, it would either be a Spanish-language Western or a Contemporary Western that takes place in Texas and involves El Chapo and the cartel. Hey, that gives me an idea.
