Athletics champion, Max-Henri Boulois died in Paris,
France on July 31, 2023. He was 87. Max started as a journalist in 1961. Born
in Martinique in 1936, he worked at L'Aurore, at L'Équipe, then at the ORTF. In
the 1970s he lived in Spain. Under the name Max B, he composes and performs
songs and acts in some Spanish films. In 1972 he released the single
Bananaticoco on the Opalo label, an international hit. Between 1973 and 1979,
he released three albums, the first on Opalo, the next two on the Movieplay
label. As Max B. he appeared as “The Black Man” in 1980’s “Chicano.”
RIP Max B. You are gone but not forgotten.
