Who Are Those Singers & Musicians ~ Wilma Goich

 

Wilma Goich is an Italian singer born in Cairo Montenotte, Savona, Italy on October 16, 1945. Goich began her career in 1964, when she released her first single "Dopo il sole pioverà".

She scored two domestic hits in 1966 and 1968 with the songs "In un fiore" and "Gli occhi miei", which peaked respectively sixth and seventh place on the Italian charts. Between 1971 and 1979 Goich formed with her then-husband Edoardo Vianello  [1938- ] the folk-pop duo Vianella. Goich entered the Sanremo Music Festival competition six times between 1965 and 1994.

In the autumn of 1990, she joined Mike Bongiorno in the new quiz game entitled ‘Tris’, which had replaced the historic Bis and with them there were also the maestro Tony De Vita and Franco Nisi of Radio Italia, together with the TV author Illy Reale. On the occasion of the Sanremo Festival of 1994 she was part of the group “Squadra Italia”, specially formed for the event, singing the song ‘Una vecchia canzone italiana’.

Goich's last album, “It's all beautiful”, dates back to 2018. In 2022 the singer entered the house of ‘Big Brother Vip’ as a competitor of the seventh edition of the reality show.

Wilma appeared in only one Euro-western “A Fistful of Songs” in 1964 as herself singing “In un fiore”.
