Little Known Spaghetti Western Actors ~ Denny Arnold

 [These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]

Denny ‘Dint’ Arnold was born Dennis Edward Arnold in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, to Arthur Arnold and his wife Gwendolyn Margaret Vine Arnold on October 24, 1939, He was educated locally and played professional football at the University of Mississippi before playing in the National Football League when his career was shortened by a knee injury he worked the rodeo circuit. This leg to a career in acting and stunt work in both the United States and Canada. Arnold is best known for playing the character roles of townsmen, gunmen, farmers, sailors, patrolmen, guards, fathers, bad guys, thugs, and bosses, usually in classic western films and classic western television series. Maybe his best remembered role was as 'Doyle' in the action thriller film, "Nightmare at Bittercreek" (1988). The film, which was directed by Tim Burstall. He’ll be also remembered for appearing in four episodes of the classic western television series, "Gunsmoke," from 1971 to 1973. In all Denny worked in more than 350 films as an Actor, 2nd Unit Director, Stunt coordinator and stuntman in an adventuresome and successful 28 year career ranging from Hollywood to other film continents worldwide. He became the first Canadian inducted into the Stuntman’s Hall of Fame.

Arnold died from a blood infection on December 31, 2001 in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. He was 62 years old.

His only Spaghetti western appearance was as a stuntman in 1966’s “Return of the Seven”.
