Who Are Those Guys? ~ Gene Collins

Gene Collins was born in Los Angeles, California on April 23, 1932. He started acting as a child in 1939’s “The Star Maker” with Bing Crosby. You’ll also see him in 1940s “The Bank Dick” with W.C. Fields and in 1942’s “The Pride of the Yankees” with Gary Cooper. Gene would continue on in his acting career appearing in over 60 films and TV appearances. He’s probably best remembered for his role as Babra in 1970’s “Kelly’s Heroes” with Clint Eastwood and Telly Savalas.

With his career on the skids by the mid-1960s Gene left Hollywood and ventured over to Spain where he appeared in 15 Euro-westerns such as “Django Kill” and the “Ugly Ones” both 1966, “Bad Man’s River” (1971) with Lee Van Cleef and a couple of various characters in 1992’s ‘The New Zorro’ (TV) series starring Duncan Regehr.

Rumor has it he ran a saloon in Madrid before returning to the United States sometime in the 1990s.

Today he's returned to the U.S. and lives quietly in retirement.
