Titulcia is a small village on the barren hills
overlooking the Rio Jarama, 35 kilometers southeast of Madrid and ten
kilometers north of Aranjuez; some westerns were shot in the area between the
hills with vertical walls and the Rio Jarama, which in particular they used a
picturesque bend in the river, the rugged cliffs and the plain below was
suitable for riding and chasing scenes.
The area remained intact, having been situated in a protected area: Parque Regional del Sureste - Soto Bayona Sociorrecreativa Area. Today, however, the vegetation is much denser than the area was years ago, also due to the introduction of poplar trees on the western shore.
