Marco Mancini was born in Orbassano, Turin, Piedmont
Italy in 1977. Besides being a pianist, composer, singer and songwriter, he is
also an Architect, with a Ph.D. in Architecture - Design. He graduated cum laude
and “Cultore della materia” (Honorary fellowship), he is a professor on
contract and has carried out teaching and academic research since 2005, at
DesignCampus (University of Florence’s School of Architecture, Degree and
Master Degree in Industrial Design) in the topics: innovation theory,
technological innovation, industrial design, planning; he has lectured at the
Interior Design Master (University of Florence) and in 2016 he ran the course
“Innovation in design” at the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and
Astronautics (NUAA), Nanking, China. He participates in inter-departmental
research projects which involve local and international enterprises; he worked
as “Design and innovation expert consultant” for enterprises in regional
projects and for industry association. As freelancer (his topics are
construction industry, industrial design and graphics) he studied and designed
integrated systems for the safety of artifacts in emergency conditions: on this
matter he owns three patents (with other colleagues) and he was lecturer in
conferences (i-Rec Information and Research on Reconstruction – Florence); he
worked in pilot projects about advanced structures for masonry vault safety in
prestigious properties (Town Hall of Cecina and Imola, Anime Salve church at L’
Aquila), published in the Engineers Bulletin of Tuscany. He deals with
outfitting and temporary installations for international exhibitions (Pitti
Immagine, Florence).
He is a jazz pianist and composer enrolled in SIAE. He
has been playing the piano since he was five years old. His main musical genres
are Jazz, Rock/Pop and Beat. Mancini has written several songs and is an
accomplished singer as well as a composer.
