Ileana Dunareanu was born on February 26, 1944, at Turnu Severin, Romania. She graduated from the Acting Department of the "Ion Luca Caragiale" Institute of Theatre and Cinematography in Bucharest in 1967 under professor Dinu Negreanu, lecturers Virgil Popvici and Victor Moldovan. She was assigned to the National Theatre in Targu Mures from 1967-1970, after a few years she transferred to the Small Theatre in Bucharest. She made her film debut in 1965’s "Gaudeamus igitur", along with Serban Cantacuzino. She also appeared in plays by the Radio Theatre.
In 1982 she emigrated to America, and since then nothing has been heard of her
Ileana Dunareanu appeared in two Euro-westerns: “Aventurile lui Tom Sawier” (The Adventures of Tom Sawyer) and “Moartea lui Joe Indianul” (Death of Injun Joe) both in 1967.
