Who Are Those Singers & Musicians ~ Franco Traverso

 

Franco Traverso was born in Italy in 1938. He was an acclaimed French horn player of the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia; he boasts collaborations with the greatest musicians of the 900 (including Hindemith and Shostakovich) and recordings with the greatest artists internationally. He has recorded 90% of the horn solos of the historic and famous soundtracks of Ennio Morricone including all of Sergio Leone's western films. He is the founder of the Santa Cecilia Chamber Orchestra with Uto Ughi.

He co-founded and was the first horn player of the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

Franco Traverso died in Rome on March 26, 2019.  He was 81.
