RIP Gemma Cuervo – Spanish actress Gemma Cuervo died in Madrid, Spain on March 14th. She was 91. Born Gemma Cuervo Igartua in Barcelona, Spain on June 22, 1934, she trained on stage, where she participated in numerous theatre companies and gave life to a wide repertoire of classics and contemporary authors, building a sustained prestige among critics and audiences. From there she made the leap to the big screen and television, at a time when the audiovisual industry was making its way strongly in Spain in the second half of the twentieth century. In the late 1960s she made her way from films to television. Cuervo was married to actor Fernando Guillén from 1960-2013 and was the mother of journalist, Natalia Guillén Curevo, TV presenter, producer, director, writer, songwriter, actor, Fernando Guillén Cuervo, director, writer, actress, singer Cayetana Guillén Cuervo and journalist Natalia Guillén Cuervo Gemma appeared in two Spaghetti westerns: “Why Kill Again? in 1965 as Pilar Gomez where she was billed as Jennifer Crowe and as Leurela in 1969’s “Guns of the Revolution”.
