Who Are Those Guys? Antonio Escribano

 

Antonio Giménez Escribano was born in Salamanca, Salamanca, Castilla y León, Spain on April 27, 1902. He obtained a degree in Law and practiced as a lawyer until 1957. He then left his job and moved to Madrid to work as an actor. In the sixteen years that his film career lasted, he participated in around ninety films, basically in supporting roles. In three of his films, specifically in “Relevo para un pistolero”, “Los cuatreros” (Shoot to Kill) and “Tumba para un forajido” (Tomb for an Outlaw), he also participated in writing the screenplay.

Among his 90+ films were seventeen Euro-westerns. Since he was an older actor he appeared in the roles of ranch owners, judges, sheriffs and politicians.

Escribano died at the age of 70 in Madrid on August 7, 1972.
