Sergio Sollima, le cinéma au couteau invites you
to travel through half a century of Italian cinema history, through the destiny
and career of an atypical filmmaker. Despite a relatively modest filmography,
Sergio Sollima was able to mark his era by creating mythical characters, such
as the agent 3S3, Cuccillo and Sandokan, and by directing seminal films in the
genres he explored. From westerns to thrillers, from adventure films to
espionage, Sergio Sollima has also infused his films with his political and humanist
commitment, born of the dark years of fascism. Colorado, The Last Face to Face,
Revolver, despite his significant contribution to Italian cinema, this director
had never before been the subject of a reference work. Thanks to the research
and film analysis carried out by Vincent Jourdan, author and passionate
cinephile, it is now possible to have an exhaustive vision of the life and work
of this anthology filmmaker.
Author and lecturer, Vincent Jourdan published in 2018
the first book dedicated to the Italian filmmaker Sergio Corbucci, Voyage
dans le cinéma de Sergio Corbucci (Lettmotif editions). He continued by
participating collectively in several works including those in the Zoom Arrière
collection (Brian De Palma, Nagisa Oshima, Nanni Moretti, Jim Jarmush and Le
cinéma muet français). Online, he created the cinephile blog Inisfree in 2004
and collaborates on the Fiches du Cinéma website as well as the online magazines
Le Ventre et l’Oreille and Foco. In charge of the Cannes
University cinema workshop, a mediator in schools, he leads debates and
presents films for numerous organizations, media libraries, associations and
notably for the Cinémathèque de Nice. President of the Regard Indépendant association,
he has introduced and practiced the Super 8 format. Since 1999, through the
Rencontres Cinéma et Vidéo in Nice, he has shared his passion for cinema that
takes a step aside.

Thanks a lot !
