It seems like the Far West but it is in Alicante: the town that hides a unique town

Hidden among the mountains of El Campello is a unique town not only in the province of Alicante or in the Valencian Community, but in all of Spain. With an armory, a church, a prison, teepee tents and even a hospital, a town in the Far West transports its visitors to another era.

This unique space has been one of the most peculiar and unknown points in Alicante for 40 years, despite being the setting for several films and television series.

The Fun West of El Campello opened its doors in the 80s as a leisure centre that brought a piece of the American Wild West to the heart of the Costa Blanca, located in a beautiful landscape of great scenic value in the area known as Barranc d'Aigües.

It is a private theme park that only breaks its calm with the arrival of visitors and professionals interested in using the sets of the Fun West estate for photo shoots, filming, events, weddings...

It has 250,000 square meters, of which more than 120,000 are occupied by the peculiar theme park, the first in the entire province. The similarity of its sets with the towns near the Mississippi River in the United States during the second half of the nineteenth century makes it an attraction for directors, producers, artists, bikers, birthday boys or anyone who wants to travel back in time.

Its unique enclave, between mountains and without any building, factory or highway in sight to take its visitors out of the charm, makes it a jewel built from wooden planks.

Some of the most important productions that have chosen the Fun West as a setting have been the Amazon Prime series Sin Huellas (Sin Traces), a 2003 feature film, or video clips by groups such as Sweet California.

The facilities also have a lounge and a restaurant in the purest Western style, as well as teepee tents for actors to rest while they carry out their shootings, and swimming pools cool off guests at parties or celebrations during the summer.

It even has a small circuit where car companies test their new models. The great activity of the estate means that El Campello benefits and fills its hotels and restaurants when the town is reserved for large events.
