Captain Miki

The character Captain Miki was created in 1951 by the Turin trio EsseGesse, composed of Giovanni Sinchetto, Dario Guzzon and Pietro Sartoris, for Edizioni Dardo. Since 1965 it has been drawn by Franco Bignotti, Nicolino Del Principe, while the scripts are by Amilcare Medici. Miki is a sixteen-year-old boy who, after enlisting in the Nevada Rangers, will have to deal with various villains such as Magic Face, General Diaz and the magician Kundra. At his side are the backers Doppio Rum and Dottor Salasso. Reprinted several times by Dardo in different editions which are listed below in chronological order of publication. While we refer to Calendario Western (1951), the new series of Collana Prateria (1957), the Collana Scudo (1967), the Collana Freccia Gigante (1968) and Miki Blek Gigante (1970) for further consultation. Reprinted in various countries, it has met with considerable success in France where Lug continued its production, entrusting the texts to Maurizio Torelli and Roberto Renzi for the drawings of Franco Bignotti and Bertrand Charlas. In Germany as Captain Micki it was also presented in the original strip format and in 1997 reprinted an astatically.
